About

The Kittyhawke Swamp Bushcare Group acknowledges the Dharug and Gundungurra peoples, the Traditional Owners of the land on which we meet. We pay our respects to Elders past and present.

Welcome to the Kittyhawke Swampcare Group website! This page records and illustrates the work of the group, and the features of the swamp itself.

The Swampcare program began in 2006, after the 2005 listing of Blue Mountains Swamps as Ecological Endangered Communities under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Act 1999. In recent years a monthly group dedicated to Kittyhawke Swamp was formed.

Each session is supervised by a BMCC Bushcare Officer.

Get involved

  • New members, including families, are welcome.
  • Children below the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the bushcare session. A parent or guardian must co-sign the volunteer registration form of volunteers under 18 years of age.

Where?

  • The location of each work session varies.
  • New members should contact the Bushcare Officer for the location of the next session.
